Old Yeller

    We just finished reading a book called Old Yeller in school. The book was about a boy who lives on a farm and his dad is leaving to sell some cattle. The boy, Travis, has to fend for his family while his dad is gone. While his dad is gone, something comes every night and steals meat that they hang in their dog run. Travis finally stays in the dog run one night and catches the thief, a big, yellow dog. Travis is furious but, his brother Arliss will not let him hurt the dog. And Mother insists on letting him keep the old, beaten up, yellow dog. In a few months a plauge of Hydrophobia comes and starts killing their cattle. Travis and Old Yeller must figure out how to protect the family.
